Q: How should I end my personal statement?

A: Try to end it with a positive statement - it could highlight your interest in the course(s) or explain how you think you will benefit from higher education. However you choose to end your personal statement, it is your final chance to impress.

Q: Should I mention anything about my gap year in my personal statement?

A: Yes, you should explain why you're taking a gap year and what you plan to do. Demonstrate your enthusiasm and initiative, and highlight how the activity may relate to your course.

Q: How do I find the entry requirements for the course?

A: Each university or college has different entry requirements - you can find details of these in Course Search. Click on the course title to see the Entry Profile for a course - Entry Profiles contain entry requirements and what universities look for in their students. If you don't know whether your qualifications will meet the requirements, please contact the university or college to discuss it.

Q: Can I ask for help when writing my personal statement?

A: Yes, we expect you to. We understand this may be the first time you have had to write about yourself in this way. In fact, it is a good idea to ask for suggestions from parents, teachers and friends and look at sample statements in books or on dedicated sites on the internet. But the important word here is 'personal'. This is you writing about yourself - remember that you are the world expert on yourself. So, after discussing and reading and taking notes, just sit down with your blank screen or sheet of paper and write about yourself. Only you know what you really like, think about and aspire to. Writing your personal statement this way should guarantee that your work will be categorised as your own writing and that a similarity report is not generated.

Q: What happens if you receive my application after the deadline?

If we receive your application after the 15 October, 15 January or 24 March deadline, but before the 30 June, we will still send it to your choices of universities and colleges, but they do not have to consider you. Many universities and colleges do, however, continue to consider applications for some courses until the end of the application cycle. Applications that we receive after 30 June are not sent to the universities and colleges.A: If we receive your application after the 15 October, 15 January or 24 March deadline, but before the 30 June, we will still send it to your choices of universities and colleges, but they do not have to consider you.
